چکیده

Decarbonization of university campuses by integrating scientific waste approaches and circular economy principles is the need-of-the-hour. Universities, maximum energetic corporations places for clinical studies social activities, have a duty to assemble low-carbon play vital function in lowering CO2 emissions. An environmental life cycle assessment was conducted compare proposed municipal solid (MSW) treatment systems with existing system residential campus (RUC) Kharagpur, West Bengal (India). The results show MSW disposal practice RUC (baseline scenario has highest GWP (1388 kg eq), which can potentially be reduced adopting integrated management source segregation as represented futuristic scenarios (S2—50% sorting) (S3—90% sorting)). Compared S1, GHG emission 50.9% S2 86.5% S3. Adopting anaerobic digestion engineered landfill without energy recovery offsets emissions contributes significant benefits terms ecological footprints. Capital goods pivotal role mitigation shift towards S3 requires infrastructure collection sorting will contribute reduction associated costs long-term.

Using Life Cycle Assessment Method for Selecting Optimal Waste Management System in Tehran City

Introduction: In Tehran with a population of 9 million currently, about 2.5 million tons municipal solid waste have been producing annually. Materials and Models: In this study by using Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) model an optimal system of waste management of Tehran was recommended. Based on the quantity and quality of waste in Tehran in 2013 and facilities, three scenarios were selected. Fir...

Life Cycle Assessment of Municipal Solid Waste Management in Tehran

Due to increasing solid waste generation and their significant impacts on human health, environmental assessment of the management and disposal methods become more and more important. There are various disposal methods which are the combinations that originate from a wide range of solid waste management systems. In this study, municipal waste of Tehran (which totals to 7507.5 tons/day) is asses...

Environmental Assessment of Life Cycle of Waste Management System Based on LCAIWM1 Modeling (Case Study: Rasht City)

Background: Population growth and increased human activities in urban communities lead to large volumes of waste. This waste volume causes problems for human health and environmental pollution. Recently, a living environment assessment has been developed to improve the situation. The purpose of this study is to compare the environmental impacts of four urban waste disposal scenarios in Rasht ci...
